AMAZING RAINBOWS in the SKY

by Molly Noble Bull

The photo above is of a rainbow in the sky above the Dead Sea in Israel and was taken on November 23, 2010 at around 2:00 pm Israel time. Notice the treetops at the bottom right.

According to the Book of Genesis, chapter nine, the Rainbow appeared in the sky after the flood as a sign of God’s covenant–His promise that never again will He destroy the whole earth by the waters of a flood.

Dead Sea Rainbow

Another rainbow was described in the first chapter of Ezekiel as being around the throne of God, and in the Book of Revelation, chapter 10 and verse 1, we are told that a rainbow appeared above the head of a mighty angel that came down from heaven.

Rainbow Angel

Most of the rainbows that I have seen start at the horizon-line, arching upward in bands of color and stretching halfway across the sky. I can only recall seeing one that arched from horizon-line to horizon-line.

Yet none of these rainbows touched the horizon-line, and all three photos were taken on the same day on the banks of the Dead Sea during my friend Dana's recent visit to Israel. All three photos were taken on November 23, 2010 around 2:00 pm Israel time, and the one called "rainbow angel" reminds me of what is described in Ezekiel, chapter one.
Apparently, photos of rainbows like these from ground level are very rare, and I can't help wondering. Are these photos a sort of sign of the end time?
Maybe not.

We had nust left Masada and we were at the Dead Sea when we tooke these rainbow pictures. At Masada one of our tour members noticed his hands were hot and anointing oil came from his hands. He touched soldiers from Israel while his hands were hot and the soldiers fell to the ground. They were afraid, but the ones that fell were filled with the Holy Ghost. I am Molly's friend, Dana

Dana,
Wow! I wish I had been there. I've never been to Israel.
Be sure to tell the other members of your tour group to visit Writers Rest and check out the photos and the article.
Love,
Molly

This is really interesting. I understand the upside-down rainbow is a fairly rare phenomenon, caused by the sun shining through high-level ice crystals. However, as my husband often observes, what makes a miracle is not necessarily what happens as when it happens. I have heard of certain cases in the Catholic Church where certain holy people exuded an olive oil-type substance from their skin. I would like to have been present to see both these things.

Interesting. Nice Photos. I've noticed that rainbows are a rarity. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've seen a real rainbow in my life. Thanks for sharing. I'll read the article that you referenced.

Molly, just read the interesting article on Wikipedia. That article is also related to the Sun Dog phenomena - the article posts a link for Sun Dogs, too, which is a phenomena that is similiar to the upside down rainbow. I read both and found them both amazing and interesting:

Also, I wonder, how can people doubt God's existence when you can see such amazing creations like rainbows and sun dogs? Those things can't just happen by chance!

Thanks for writing, Cecelia, and everybody.
To doubt God's word is tragic for the doubter. Though God loves everybody, he can only save those that request it. Everybody sins in one way or another. That's why we much ALL repent.
And it's not a matter of whether or not you are a good person. It's a matter of whether or not you repent and acknowledge Jesus as your savior -- the one that paid for your sins. People unwilling to do those small things will spend eternity in hell when they could have gone to heaven.
Ask and your will receive. Seek and your will find.
How sad for those who don't.
Love,
Molly

AWSOME PHOTO! I've been searching for weeks for something like this. I also captured an image draped in a rainbow. It's some type of natural anomaly I'm sure never the less it is an interesting phenomenon. God shows himself in different ways. We just have to be open enough to allow his message to shine through.
