MOTHER OF THE YEAR: The Lady in the Yellow Shirt

by Molly Noble Bull

Mothers, especially Christian mothers and grandmothers, have a tough job in life. They want their children and grandchildren to love them. At the same time, they want them “in that number when the saints come marching in.” In other words, they want them to go to heaven.
Yet in the state of Maryland on the night of April 27, 2015, a woman, a mother, risk losing the love of her sixteen-year-old son for the better good. Instead of sparing the rod and spoiling her child, she did as the Bible says to do. She showed her love for the boy by smacking him in order to get his attention and turn him in the right direction.
I know. You aren’t to smack a child in the face. I would never do that nor have I ever done such a thing. But she didn’t actullay hurt the boy physically. The smack was light—meant to teach him right from wrong.
I don’t know the woman’s name. I call her The Lady in the Yellow Shirt, but I know her heart because she has the heart of a true mother.

This brave lady inspired me to remove my safety net and do as she did—witness to my family and others. Maybe you should do as she did too.
It might be years before the son of The Lady in the Yellow Shirt realizes that his mother was right all along and that her smacks were labors of love. But I predict that he will learn this lesson but maybe not until he has children and grandchildren of his own. Perhaps on that day, he will thank his mom for loving him enough to risk losing him.
Mother’s Day is coming up, and I vote for The Lady in the Yellow Shirt for Mother of the Year

BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS:

Attention Home-School Moms and Others

by Molly Noble Bull

The Bible warns us of false prophets in the form of witchcraft and other occult practices. But today some churches seldom, if ever, warn their congregations of these evil practices. As a result, some Christian youths as well as adults and others crave books and movies about vampires, zombies and occult witchcraft—books and movies that promote evil while calling it “cool” and appealing.
Gatehaven, my scary Gothic Historical with a strong Christian message, will appeal to young people and others interested in dark and evil practices while learning in a novel format the dangers of the occult according to the Bible.
Scroll down, below the picture of Gatehaven's cover, to learn about THE GATEHAVEN STUDY GUIDES PACKAGE for home school teachers and students.

MOLLY'S FREE BIO, Part One

.   April 8, 2015

by Molly Noble Bull

The Moon Belongs to Everyone. The Best Things in Life Are Free.

The first two lines of this message came from a song. The words are by B.G. DeSylvia and Lew Brown, and the music is by Ray Henderson. And it is so true. The best things in life are free, but it took me a long time to realize it.
.   I’m no spring chicken, as they say, but since I believe I will live to about 103, I’ll be here for a while—unless Jesus comes before then. That could happen. He could come at any time. The signs are everywhere.
.   I’m a wife, a mother of three grown sons, a grandmother, a former school teacher, and a published novelist. I am also a Born Again Christian, and that is the most important thing of all.
.   Until now, I never felt I should tell the things I am about to tell. The fact that I am telling things now explains a lot, and in the days, weeks, months and perhaps years to come, I am going to publish my bio on the internet for free in blurbs like this one filled with questions, thoughts and dreams.
.   Yes, I said dreams. The Bible says the following words about dreams in the Book of Joel, chapter 2 and verse 28.
#
And it shall come to past afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophecy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.
#
.   I am having dreams—perhaps visions. Today I am finally telling what happened to me on September 11, 2001.
#
.   Today we live in South Texas in the very town where I was born, but in 2001, we lived in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. I got up real early on the morning of September 11, 2001 because we were going to drive from ConCan, Texas to Victoria, Texas, and it was a four hour drive. I was to have one of my knees replaced on September 12th, and I was to go to the hospital in Victoria and pre-register for my surgery as an outpatient.
.   Before getting in the car for the long drive, I wanted to pray. On that morning I decided to pray in tongues except I always sing in tongues instead. The Lord often deals with me through music, and He likes for me, for all of us, to sing praises to Him. So as I often do, I asked the Lord to give me a tune to use in my song.
.   Sometimes He gives me tunes I never heard, but often it is a hymn I sing in church or at Bible study. On September 11, 2001, the tune to God Bless America came into my mind.
.   I thought that was odd. God Bless America was in our church hymnal, but He had never given me a patriotic song to sing in tongues previously.
.   I sang, using that tune anyway. Then we got in the car and started out on our journey.
.   About two hours later, we arrived in San Antonio, and my husband and I decided to go into a convenience store and buy snacks to eat and drink along the way. When we got back in our car, the cell phone rang.
.   It was one of our sons with a message. He was watching TV, and he said that an airplane just hit a tower in New York City. Then he said something like, “Oh no. Another plane hit another tower in New York City.”
.   We were stunned. I wondered if we should continue on to Victoria. Did I want to be in surgery during World War III? But we decided to continue on.
.   When we arrived at the hospital in Victoria, everybody was watching TV, praying or both. I was invited to attend a prayer service on another floor, but I refused. I had to stay in line to pre-register for my surgery.
.   We stayed in a motel that night. As we were watching TV, we saw the congress of the United States go outside and stand on the steps of the Capitol building and sing a song. And what were they singing?
.   God Bless America.
.   My surgery was a success, and we saw a lot of posters with God Bless America on them in the weeks and months to follow. Then the posters disappeared, and everything returned to the way it was before 9-11.

The illustration on this page was done by artist, Courtney Young. The song, THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE, was published in 1925 by B.G. DeSyliva, Lew Brown and Ray Henderson, and the words are true. The best things in life really are free.
.   We will be learning more about that as my bio continues; so stay turned. There is more to come.
